Sixth-grade students commemorate Mexico's Independence with a civic ceremony steeped in history and tradition

Through a creative radio station, our students brought to life the events and figures that shaped Mexico's independence.

On September 18, the 6th-grade students at Colegio Miraflores México held a civic ceremony at La Velaria, where they commemorated Mexico’s Independence through a creative presentation that combined history, public speaking, and student participation.

The presentation was structured like a radio station: through interviews with historical figures, our students recounted the most important events of the War of Independence and helped their classmates gain a better understanding of this pivotal chapter in our country’s history.

This approach made it possible to share historical facts in a different way, giving students the opportunity to take on the role of communicators and active participants in their own learning.

The event culminated in a traditional dance, which highlighted the richness of our traditions and led into a get-together in which the entire elementary school participated. As part of the celebration, the students enjoyed pork rinds and shared a moment of celebration.

Through this activity, we recognize the work of our 6th-grade students and their teachers, who made possible a commemoration that combined knowledge of our history with creativity and the expression of our traditions.

At Colegio Miraflores, we keep our history alive through educational experiences that strengthen students' knowledge of and appreciation for Mexico.
